Yellow Test Learning Resources

Yellow Test

Prerequisites: Green Rating
Duration: Varies, about 30m from takeoff to landing

Description

The Yellow test is a test of safe sailing skills in moderate wind conditions. The test is ONLY administered on a Yellow flag day, and sometimes a Red flag day at the discretion of the dockmaster. The test requires that sailors rig their boats properly, depart the dock unassisted, and sail a 3-mark windward-leeward “slalom” course while demonstrating their skills. A safe landing is required to complete the test. The documents below outline the specific skills required to pass the test, and outline the test course itself.
