Below are general descriptions of the programs we offer. For more details, use the navigation to the left.

Adult Program

Community Boating offers sailing, windsurfing, and kayaking to adults 18 years and older.

The Adult Program runs from April 1 to October 31, Monday-Friday 1 PM to sunset and weekends 9 AM to sunset. Membership includes instruction (formal classes and in-formal on-the-water instruction), unlimited use of all boats and discounts to events.

In addition to boating, members enjoy a wide range of activities including seminars, fundraising events, Friday Night BBQs and Night Sails, and other social events throughout the season.

Junior Program

In a typical season, the Junior Program at Community Boating serves over 2,000 Junior Members aged 10-18 from over 30 towns and communities in the Greater Boston Area. Our members span all economis levels, ethnic groups, and regions.

The 2010 Junior Program will run from Monday June 14 through Friday August 20, Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm (select classes will run until 3:30).

Universal Access Program

For over 60 years, we’ve been offering "sailing for all" in our Junior as
well as Adult Programs. In 2007, we were very fortunate to work with the
DCR Universal Access Program, the EOEA’s (Executive Office of
Environmental Affairs) Office of Public Private Partnerships and Genzyme
Corporation to expand on our mission by providing sailing for individuals
with special needs or those who may need special attention or assistance,
to create the Universal Access Program at CBI. Recipient of the US
Sailing Community Sailing Council Award for Outstanding Program for
Disabled Sailors 2008!

In the Universal Access Program, persons with disabilities and their
guests will have the use of specialized, accessible sailboats and
transfer equipment, dedicated staff assistance to get in and out of the
boats, and sailing instruction, all for only $1.00! Several seat
configurations in the boats are available for people with various
disabilities. Reserved sessions, usually an hour in length, can be
customized to meet individual needs. They can consist of a short sailboat
ride for therapeutic recreation or a more learn-to-sail class structure,
leading to ratings and expanded sailing privileges.

High School Sailing

Community Boating partners with the Mass Bay League to offer High School racing on 420’s and Cape Cod Mercurys.
